Who amongst my LinkedIn family knows of The Prince Of Persia?
As a child, video games were an escape for me, but little did I realise how deeply reflective of life they could be.
In life and in video games, the first level prepares you for the second. The struggles you face in the second level equip you with the things you need for what is to come in the third level, and so on.
I have long since thought that every experience – good and bad – allows us to “level up”.
When we experience something new, we also gain new knowledge, new insight, and new learning we can apply to future situations.
Each level is tougher than the last – but so are we. Because we know and have experienced more, we can handle more and we can progress further.
Whilst the best way to know more is to experience it for yourself, there will always be experiences that do not fall into our path. It is wise, then, to read, watch, listen and learn from the experience of others as much as possible, so we can keep “levelling up”.
My upcoming book shares my experience in a way that I hope allows you to learn, be inspired, or even just see yourself reflected in my words.
We are all playing this game together – let’s help one another rather than compete.
