For example, since the Covid-19 pandemic, I have stopped reading newspapers. There is nothing “new” in them – it is the same things reframed in slightly different ways.
Life doesn’t come cheap, and it’s too precious to waste even one minute on activities that don’t help me progress or bring me fulfilment.
I strongly believe that time wasted is time wasted, no matter who you are. Therefore I want to make the most of my life by choosing WHO my friends are and HOW I spend my time.
Far too often, societal norms and expectations, shaped by family and elders, dictate our life choices, limiting our autonomy. With age, I’ve embraced the freedom to decide with whom and how I spend my precious moments.
However, I don’t want you to have to wait until you are nearly 50 years old for this revelation like I did. Instead, I want you to live every moment of your life intentionally, starting right now.
As Marcus Aurelius said, “You could die right now. Let this fact guide the rest of your life.”
The time to act, to live with purpose, is now.
