One of my most valuable life lessons came from this picture. ?
Last year, I visited the “Floating” Lake Palace of Udaipur with my cousins from Singapore.
The Lake Palace was built in the 18th century as a summer palace meant to offer a cool retreat from the hot summers of Rajasthan.
Today, it now serves as a five-star luxury hotel and a popular T.V. & film location, notably featuring in movies such as the James Bond film “Octopussy,” which contributed to its global fame. The Bollywood classic song “Mera Saya Saath Hoga” (1966) was shot here as well.
When I visited, however, I didn’t just see a stunning piece of architecture.
I saw a bridge.
A bridge between the past and the present, offering a glimpse into the opulence of India’s royal past while still functioning as a luxury tourist attraction today.
As I look at this picture, I was reminded that history is not just a record of times gone by but a source of wisdom, lessons, and inspiration for the present and future.
I learned a lot from the people who have gone before me and the past events that shaped my life. I draw lessons from the good, the bad, and the ugly, and it has made me a better man today.
Do you think you can make better decisions by reflecting on your personal histories and past experiences?
